William "Bill" John Ewing
August 4, 1939 - January 10, 2012

William “Bill” Ewing, 72, of Port Neches went to be with his Lord on January 10, 2011, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.  

He was born on August 4, 1939 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to his parents, William Ewing and Rita Scott Ewing. Bill entered the United States Air Force on August 8, 1957, and retired on March 31, 1982, after twenty-four years of service to his country.  During his time in the service he was awarded several medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross which he earned during his terms in Viet Nam. Bill loved being with his family and grandchildren, enjoyed golfing, fishing, sports, exercising and singing karaoke. His favorite footballs teams were the Dallas Cowboys, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Auburn Tigers.

  Bill is survived by his loving wife, of thirty-eight years, Joyce Ewing of Port Neches; sons, Kenneth Ewing and his wife, Terri of Stowell and Stephen Ewing and his wife, Rachel of League City; grandchildren, Thaddeus “Godot” Ewing, Landon Prejean, Chloe Ewing, William Reese Ewing and Braden Ewing; and a host of family and friends.  

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, January 13, 2012, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of his family and friends will be from Noon 12:00 p.m. until his time of service. Cremation was through Broussard’s.
