Emilio Velasco
January 28, 1944 - January 10, 2012

Emilio Velasco, 67, of Groves, died January 10, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, in Beaumont.  Born January 28, 1944, to Dora Esquivel and Adolph Velasco, Sr. in Port Lavaca, he was a resident of the area for the last forty years.  Emilio was owner and operator of a local industrial services company. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and was a very business oriented individual.  His greatest loves were his wife, family and his business.   Emilio is survived by his wife, Patricia Garcia of Groves; sons, Christopher Velasco of Sour Lake, William Blankenship of Beaumont, Paul Garcia of Port Neches and Josh Velasco of Houston; daughters, Christina Rodriguez of Beaumont, Erica Arabie and her husband, James of Port Neches, Ashley Quinn of Port Neches, Heather Velasco of Nederland, and Danielle Quinn of Port Neches; fourteen grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Clay of Texas City, Angie Stillinger of Alvin, Ruth Bobbitt of Lufkin and Sara Remollino of Alvin; brothers, Aaron Velasco of Texas City, George Velasco of Friendswood, Adolph Velasco, Jr., Abel Velasco and Daniel Velasco all of Texas City.   He is preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Velasco, Sr. and Dora Esquivel; grandsons, Hector Rodriguez, Jr. and Brad Miller, Jr.  

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012, at Broussard’s.
