Clifton “Jack” Barbo, 86, of Vidor, died Friday, January 6, 2012, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Jack was born on November 2, 1925, to Lily Beardon Barbo and Jasper Barbo in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
He was a World War II United States Navy veteran serving on the USS Hancock aircraft carrier and retired from Halliburton having worked there for twenty-three years. Jack enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing and will be remembered as a loving husband and father.
Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Mary “Liz” Barbo, of Vidor; four sons, Larry Barbo of Wildwood, Billy Barbo of Jasper, Bobby Barbo of Lumberton and Rodney Barbo of Arcadia, Louisiana; fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Haven of Buna.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Danny Ray Barbo and Jerry Dale Barbo.
His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont, with a graveside service to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery, in Buna. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Broussard’s.
