James Murvin Trahan

James Murvin Trahan, 74, of Nederland died January 2, 2012 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. Born February 1, 1937 in Nederland, he was the son of Opal Christian Woods Trahan and Earl Woodrow Trahan. He was a United States Army veteran and retired from Southwestern Bell as an outside plant technician after thirty-three years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Gay Trahan of Nederland; son, Dr. James R. Trahan and his wife, Patti of Ames, Iowa; daughter, Cheri R. Fristoe and her husband, Kelly of Nederland; brother, Charles A. Trahan and his wife, Lorina of Lake Sam Rayburn; grandchildren, Daniel Sellers, Sarah Sellers, Gabriel Sellers, Rachel Sellers, Caleb Sellers, and Joel Sellers; and one great grandchild, Brianna. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joel Trahan; and brothers, Billy W. Trahan and Robert E. Trahan.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at First United Methodist Church, 104 North 13th Street, Nederland followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday evening, January 4, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.
