Mildred Ann Miller
July 30, 1922 - December 31, 2011

 

Mildred Ann Miller, 89, of Nederland died December 31, 2011 at Cypress Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born July 30, 1922 in Sulphur, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Delia Thibodeaux Trahan and Nelton Trahan.  Mildred had been a resident of Nederland for sixty-eight years and was employed with Nederland Independent School District for twenty-five years.   She enjoyed crafts, belonged to Texas Cajun Club and loved Cajun dancing.

 

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Miller Prestridge Daughtry and her husband, Joe of Nederland and Dianne Miller Hackett and her husband, Roy of Houston; son, Robert Miller and his wife, Gloria; grandchildren, Derek Prestridge, Jake Daughtry, Troy Hackett, Jesse Hackett, and Stoney Miller; and great grandchildren, Whitney Reese Prestridge, Charleigh Grace Prestridge, Seth Hackett, Ethan Hackett, James Hackett, and Ava Hackett; brothers, Lawrence Trahan and Harry Trahan.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Trahan, Louis Trahan and Horace Trahan; sisters, Dora Chim and Hazel Boudreaux; and grandson, Tony Hackett.

 

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at Broussard’s Chapel, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.  A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday evening, January 5, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
