Hazel Wright Harmon, 94, of Beaumont quietly passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at Beaumont Health Care Center.  Born January 26, 1917 in Port Arthur, she was the daughter of Lorena Jewel Williams Wright and Charles Beverly Wright.   She was a salesperson and buyer for Oshman’s Sporting Goods and for the last thirty years, she owned an antique store, the most recent location being at the Antique Mall in Lumberton.

 

She loved people, especially her four grandchildren, and was known for her ready smile and generous heart.  Her passion was finding bargains and giving gifts. Everyone who knew her has received at least one gift from her at one time or another.  She will be missed by those who loved her.

 

She is survived by her brother, Lloyd Wright of San Antonio; grandchildren, Thomas Sampson of Spring, John Sampson and Catherine Sampson both of Houston and Edith Putnam of Buford, Georgia; niece, Dorothy Norton of Silsbee; and son-in-law, James Sampson of Houston.  Mrs. Harmon was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Eugene Harmon and daughters, Claudia Harmon Sampson and Beverly Anne Harmon.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Broussard’s Chapel, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery.  A gathering of family and friends will be Monday evening, January 2, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
