James "Calvin" Calvin Thibodeaux

James “Calvin” Thibodeaux, 76, of Winnie, passed away on December 24, 2011, at his residence.   He was born on May 15, 1935, in Welsh, Louisiana, to Allison and Odelia Bouillion Thibodeaux. Calvin moved to the Winnie area in 1939, where he enlisted in the United States Army in 1961, and served his country until 1968. In 1966, he married Shirley Langston. Calvin enjoyed working in his yard, reading and being with his family.   He is survived by three children; Chuck Nelson and his wife, Dawn, Rhonda Thibodeaux Credeur and her husband, Keith and Tara Thibodeaux and her partner, Kim Dobie; grandchildren, Gregory Treat and his wife, Kristina, Chelsea Titus, Sarah Nelson Hill and her husband, Brandon, Steven Nelson, Kassy Credeur Aiena and her husband, Leon, James Nugent, David Credeur and Colby Thibodeaux; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Lundmark, Deanna Stelly, and another great-grandchild on the way; and a host of relatives and friends.   Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold Thibodeaux, Carold Thibodeaux, Joe Thibodeaux, and Walter Thibodeaux; sisters, Ida DeYoung and Lily Nolan.  

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, December 28, 2011, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, in Winnie with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Broussard’s.
