Bobbie Jean Waller Venable, 75, of Nederland and North Zulch, Texas, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born June 29, 1936, in Pleasant Grove Community in Madison County, Texas, to Burney Mae Richards and James Robert Waller. A resident of Nederland since 1954, Bobbie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Nederland. She graduated from North Zulch High School in 1953, attended Blinn Junior College, and Lamar University. Joyce Venable and Bobbie were married July 11, 1954, and remained devoted to each other for fifty-five years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Bobbie’s love and memories will remain in the hearts of her daughters, Donna Venable and her husband, David Grimmer and Lorrie Simoneaux and her husband, Robert; grandchild, David Harland Grimmer; sisters, Patricia Hayes and her husband, Will and Peggy Clute and her husband, Donald; brother-in-law, Melvin D. Venable and his wife, Ann; sister-in-law, Margaret Ward; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joyce Harland Venable; her parents, Burney Mae and Robert Waller; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Viola and Fred Venable.
A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a funeral service celebrating Bobbie’s life at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church, 2515 Canal Avenue, Nederland, with Brother Donald Bean officiating. Local arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
Additional services will be a gathering of her family and friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Madisonville Funeral Home, 1511 East Main Street, Madisonville. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2011, at Madisonville Funeral Home, with Brother Donald Bean officiating. Interment will follow at Madisonville City Cemetery, under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home.
