Paulina “Pauline” LuFern Goodman, 60, of Lumberton, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011, at her home.
She was born in LaHarpe, Illinois, then was raised in Abilene Kansas from the age of seven. She married her husband Owen Goodman on January 26, 1970. They lived in Oklahoma for a short time and then moved to Lumberton, Texas where she volunteered for Lumberton EMS. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross as an instructor. She was lucky enough to work as an EMT for twenty years, which was her passion and love. At the time of her departure from this Earth she was employed by Acadian Ambulance Company.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Owen Goodman; children, Billy Goodman and his wife Kristi of DeRidder, Louisiana, Tracy Williams and her husband Cary Shayne, and Bobby Goodman all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Tina Goodman, Anderson Goodman, Halle Goodman and Ayden Goodman; father and mother, Robert (Bob) and Pearl Sims of Abilene, Kansas; brothers, Bob Sims Jr. and his wife Pam, Rod Sims all of Abilene, Kansas and Ken Sims and his wife Trudy of Chapman, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Sims and her grandparents, Nelson and Eda Sims and Seth and Alma Sutton.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Broussard’s Chapel, 490 Cemetery Road, in Silsbee. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2011 also at Broussard’s.
