Helen L. Metreyeon, 93, of Nederland, died Friday, December 23, 2011, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Born December 22, 1918, to Ruth Bader and Dr. Edwin L. McIntosh in Oxford, Ohio, she was a resident of the area since 1945.
Helen is survived by her sons, John W. Jack Metreyeon and his wife, Jeanie of Bay City and Thomas E. Metreyeon and his wife, Virginia of Nederland; daughter, Marla Cammack of Nederland; grandchildren, Paul Metreyeon, Chris Metreyeon, Tim Metreyeon, Charlie Metreyeon, Cole Beck, Tommy Metreyeon, Anjeanette Metreyeon Cianfrani, Summer Young-Grossman; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Sara Gilmore of College Corner, Ohio; brothers, Robert McIntosh of Hamilton, Ohio and Donald McIntosh of Hollywood, California; and daughter-in-law, Paula Metreyeon of Evanston, Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilton Metreyeon; son, Dan Metreyeon; brothers, Jim McIntosh and Thomas McIntosh; and sisters, Martha Boyer, Ruthie McIntosh, Catherine Breidenbach-Hill, Eleanor Chandler and Marilyn Spaulding.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, with entombment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2011, at Broussard’s.
