Richard Earl Wells, Jr

Richard Earl Wells, Jr., 75, of Winnie, died December 21, 2011, at St. Luke’s Medical Center of Houston.   He was born January 11, 1936, in Freeport to Richard Earl Wells, Sr. and Gladys Emma Trahan Wells. Richard worked in the Instrumentation Department for Houston Light and Power before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, dancing and loved being with his family and friends.   Richard is survived by his daughters, Kandy McBride and her husband, Wayne of Winnie and Tammy Patterson and her husband, Donnie of Frisco; sisters, Vivian Holder of Winnie and Loretta Johse of Hamshire; grandchildren, Brandon McBride and his wife, Brooke of Lumberton, Kade McBride of Katy, and Tasha Patterson and her husband, Donald of Pearland; great-grandchildren, Mason McBride, Maddyn McBride, Nicole Patterson and Dawson Patterson; and a host of family and friends.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Tina Marie Miller Wells.   A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 26, 2011, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of his service Monday morning at Broussard’s.
