Sylvia Cornwall Vickers, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011, in Beaumont. She was born in Beaumont to Roby Mae Rogers Cornwall and John Arthur Cornwall. She was strong in her Catholic faith and dedicated to her family. Sylvia was a very compassionate and loving person.
Survivors include her children, Paul Vickers and his wife, Rebecca, Kathleen Diegert and her husband, Carl, Rebecca Dittrich and her husband, Norbert, Mark Vickers and his wife, Jaqi, Stephen Vickers, Tommy Vickers, Celia Salmon and her husband, Tim, Grace Vickers and Nancy Waite and her husband, Alton; grandchildren, Matthew, Roger, Cheryl, Scott, Lauren, Arthur, Kurt, Christie, Sharon, Kathryn, William, Rachel, Michael, Monica, Evan and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Emma, Jaren, Ava, Owen, Lily, Renee, Daniel, Gabriel, Aedan, Jacy, Bryson, Brie, Jack, Josh and Tye; sisters, Minta Boudreaux and Edna Corbello and her husband, Melvin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-seven years, Leroy Vickers; son, Bill Vickers; brother-in-law, Ross Boudreaux; sister-in-law, Margaret Dunbar and her husband, Red.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2011, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
Her family wishes to thank all the staff at The Clairmont and Harbor Hospice for all their kindness and care towards Sylvia.
