Harold "Pappoo" Galloway
May 14, 1928 - December 18, 2011

Harold "Pappoo" Galloway, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.

 

A native of Beaumont and a resident of Scott, Louisiana for the last six years, Harold was a retired Dock Master for Bethlehem Steel in Beaumont. He was a member of the Cruising Cajuns Motor Home Club. He enjoyed working out at Red's, dancing and going to Mardi Gras. Mr. Galloway was always ready to celebrate any occasion. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War.

 

Survivors include his two sons, Kenneth Alan Galloway and his wife, Erin of Bevil Oaks and Keith Edward Galloway and his wife, Cathy of Scott, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Megan Matte and her husband, Chance, Hannah Galloway, Daina Galloway and Jonathan "J.T." Galloway; one sister, LaNell Cuniff and her husband, Pete of Winnie; and one brother, Jack Edward Galloway and his wife, Joan of Beaumont.

 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Johnnie Sue Glawson Galloway; and his parents, Diana Jack Galloway and Harvey Howard Galloway.

 

His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Jacks Cemetery, Pineland. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011, and also Thursday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. prior to his service, at Broussard’s.

  He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
