Georgann Tims Harlan
April 21, 1947 - December 10, 2011

Georgann Tims Harlan, born April 21, 1947, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to George Barton Tims, Jr. and Virgie Adelyn Tims, died peacefully in sleep at her home in Beaumont Saturday, December 10, 2011, from complications of Multiple Sclerosis.

 

Georgann attended St. Andrews Priory in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1963, spent a summer in Nigeria, and toured Europe extensively with her family. She and her family returned to Beaumont where she graduated from South Park High School in 1965. She was an accomplished student of ballet at the Judith Sproule School of Dance and taught dance lessons to pay her way through college.

 

Georgann earned a B. A. in psychology from Lamar State College of Technology where her father was professor and head of the Department of Industrial Engineering. She and her husband, Josiah Harlan III, lived in Glendale, California, for one year before moving back to Texas.

 

Georgann is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Josiah Harlan III, daughters Aimée Loker and husband Drew Loker, Kim Hudler, Melissa Hudler and husband Brandon Gouthier, Stacey Savino-Philmon and husband Jeff Philmon; stepchildren Jason Harlan, Philip Harlan, Josiah Harlan IV, David Montoya-Harlan, and Wendy Navarrette; sister Rebecca Collins and husband Barrie Collins; nieces Laura Batt and Nitia Musico; grandchildren Ava and Nicholas Philmon, Flora Gouthier, and Ashley and Alex Navarrette; aunt, Carol Truman; cousins Kathy Peaster, Marilyn Traylor, Annette Sheets, and Robert Tims; and long-time devoted caregiver Cheryl Guillory and daughter Victoria Guillory.

 

Georgann will be greatly missed for her sense of humor, strength, and loving and generous spirit.

 

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Broussard’s.
