Edward “Ed” John Hogan, Jr., 89, of Beaumont, died, Monday, November 28, 2011, at Calder Woods. A native of Beaumont, he was born on December 25, 1921, to Tula Broussard Hogan and Edward John Hogan, Sr. Ed was a St. Anthony High School graduate and attended Texas A&M University until being called to serve in the United States Army, as a captain with the occupational forces in Japan. He was a good husband, father and grandfather and will be truly be missed.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Mary Bott Hogan; five daughters, Mary Colemon, Linda Clark and her husband, Mike, Patricia Furby and her husband, Richard, Lauren Shelton and her husband, Leon and Maureen Storie and her husband, Walter; grandchildren, Cherilyn Keeney and her husband, Stephen, Chris Colemon, Greg Colemon, Travis Clark, Brian Clark, Allen Furby and his wife, Rosette, Adrianne Nutt and her husband, Scott, Lucas Shelton, Carson Storie, Robert Storie and William Storie; and great-granddaughter, Gracie Claire Nutt.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Charles David “Dave” Colemon.
Ed’s family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Calder Woods and New Century Hospice for their compassion and kindness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2011, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue. A Christian Vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011, with a gathering of his family and friends to follow, at Broussard’s.
