Vina Breaux, 95, of Winnie died November 28, 2011, at the Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.
She was born July 27, 1916, in Mermenteau, Louisiana to Alcee Benoit and Amelia Landry Benoit. Vina had lived in the Winnie area for over seventy years.
She is survived by her son, Mason Breaux and his wife, Myrna of Winnie; daughters, Shirlene Humphries and her husband James W. of Vidor, Mazie Harrington and her husband, Bubba of Winnie and Rita Abshier and her husband, Troy E. of Onalaska; brother, Reed Benoit and his wife, Adelia of Winnie; sisters, Trixie Bertrand and her husband, Alex and Jeanette Verde all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Ricky Breaux, Patti Kahla, Sherri and John Villarreal, Lisa Arnold, David and Tammy Abshier, Brian and Kathy Abshier, Veronica Austin, Ronnie Humphries, Michael Humphries, Sheila Alvis, Edward Humphries, and Dana Baker; great-grandchildren, Jessica Melancon, Hope Breaux, Ricky Breaux, Jr. , Kylar Kahla, Sebastian Villaerreal, Jescelyn Villarreal, James Arnold, Mathew Arnold, Ron Arnold, Elizabeth and Brice Sailer, Nikki Abshier, Josh Abshier, Christina and David Messer, Amanda Satterwhite , Brandon Satterwhite, KaLee Austin, Emma Austin, Melissa Carter, Ethan Humphries, Rachel Beech, Ryan Staggs, James Humphries, Lake Alvis, Collin Alvis, Austin Alvis, Gage Baker, Evelyn Baker, Austin Humphries, Alden Humphries, and Brianna Humphries; great-great-grandchildren, Lee Messer, Hannah Messer, Tyler Stanley, Jalin Thomas, Jazmin Thomas, Trey Smith, Jarrett Beech, Austin Beech, Sam Beech, Alonzo Layton, Jaden Humphries, Dominick Goza and Shyla Goza; and a host of relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 W. Buccaneer Drive with burial to follow at Fairview cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s,134 W. Buccaneer Drive, in Winnie. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, November 30, 2011, with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
