Danny James Chesson, 58, of Colmesneil, died Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. Born July 24, 1953, to Ina Simon and Edmond Chesson in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, he was a resident of the Mid-County area for over fifty-eight years.
Danny was a retired driver with U.P.S. after thirty years and also served with the United States Marines. He was an all-around do-it-yourselfer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially riding his back “hoe”, Lucy. Danny’s wishes were to gift his body to science so that others may benefit.
He is survived by his wife, Tamara Chesson of Colmesneil; mother, Ina Simon of Port Arthur; sisters, Patty Lunsford and her husband, Fred of Angleton and Tammy Salenga and her husband, Richie of Nederland; brothers, Otis Hilbun of Fort Lupton, Colorado, Edmond Neil Chesson of Port Arthur and Mark Chesson of McAllen; aunts, Marjorie Stephenson of Bridge City and Janet Harris and her husband, Jim of Port Neches; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Danny will especially be missed by his beloved pets, Penny and Mamie.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edmond Chesson; and his twin sister, Donna Chesson Tully.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Danny’s name to the American Cancer Society, 755 South 11th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
