Linda Mae Chandler, 69, of Nederland, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. Born August 1, 1942, to Esther Mae Samford and Curtis Matthew Brookshire in Lufkin, she was a lifelong resident of the Mid-County area.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Carrie Lynn Dewitt and her husband, Larry of Vidor and Johnnie Mae Daigle and her husband, Charles of Kountze; stepson, Jeffery Chandler and his wife, Lisa of Nederland; grandchildren, Heather, Andria, Johnathon, Casey, Brittany, Jessica, Kaitlyn, Morgan, Dylan and Breanna; great grandchildren, Madalyn, Anthony and Maddox; and special friends, Betty Waller and her husband, Jake of Vidor.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Esther Brookshire; husband, Joe Chandler; and daughter, Felicia Ballard.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Broussard’s.
