Carrie Suzanne Budd Naas, 45, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston following a valiant struggle with breast cancer. Carrie was born May 11, 1966, in Beaumont, Texas. She graduated from West Brook High School where her claim to fame was being the first mascot for the newly formed Bruins football team. She went on to graduate from her beloved University of Texas and was an active member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
Upon graduation from The “World Class” University, Carrie worked as a corporate recruiter and interior decorator in Austin where she was an active member of The Junior League. It was in Austin where she met the love of her life, Jonathan, and they had their children, Lauren and Will.
The family moved to Beaumont where Carrie reconnected with old friends and, as always, never met a stranger. Her cancer diagnosis underscored her passion for life as she continued to live each and every day to its fullest. Carrie made each friend feel like they were her “best” friend. She was a tireless volunteer for The American Cancer Society and was a board member for the Julie Rogers” Gift of Life” Program and Baptist Hospital’s Pink Power Network.
