Ulysse A. Hebert, 87, of Port Arthur died November 19, 2011 at his residence. Born May 1, 1924 in Franklin, Louisiana, and longtime resident of the area, Ulysse was the son of Camelite Broussard Hebert and Dennis Hebert. He was a World War II United States Air Force veteran. He liked to cook, drink coffee, listen to Cajun music, and most of all spending time with family and friends. His family describes him as silly, hard headed, and loving.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Gautreaux of Port Arthur; brother, Viley Hebert of Port Acres; granddaughters, Evelyn Stelly and her husband, Patrick of Groves, Diane Maraist and her husband, Walter of Nederland, Tasha Gautreaux Moreno and Angela Piazza and her husband, Darren all of Port Arthur, and Rebecca Scales and her husband, A.J. of Orangefield; grandson, A. J. Hebert of Orangefield; good friend, Diane Sonnier of Port Arthur; twelve great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Curtis Hebert and Nolan Hebert; daughters, Rebecca Guy and Connie Williams; and son, Ronald Hebert.
Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening, November 22, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recited 6:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
