Theodore Basil Bailey

Theodore Basil Bailey, 80, of Lumberton passed from this life on November 10, 2011, after a lengthy illness.

Basil was born August 8, 1931, in Old Blox, Texas to Rosie Lee and Leo Bailey.  Basil worked many years at Pure Oil Refinery in Nederland where he lived with his wife, Norma and raised their daughters.  Later, he and Norma made their home in Lumberton.  Basil was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.  His bright personality and quirky humor will be missed by all. 

He is survived by his daughter, Valerie Reynolds and her husband, Robert; sisters, Faye Eason and Juanita Grigsby; grandchildren, Kristi and Brandon Hooks; and many other family members and friends.

Basil is preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Norma Bailey; daughters, Norma Ann and Darlene Sanford; and grandson, Daniel Hooks.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial to follow at R. S. Farmer Cemetery, South 3rd Street, Silsbee.  A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, November 12, 2011, 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
