Mary Kate King West
April 20, 1931 - November 6, 2011

Mary Kate King West, 80, of China, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011.  She was born April 20, 1931, in Grayburg, Texas to Robert Benjamin King and Ada Pentecost Wright, and had been a life long resident of the area.

 

Mary Kate was a 1948 graduate of Sour Lake High School and maintained close friendships with her fellow classmates.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in China and an active member of the China Cemetery Association.  Her greatest passion was spending time with her family and friends.  

 

Mary Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Valeary West.

 

Survivors include her children, Mildred Pulliam, Irma Moodt and her husband, Gerry Moodt, and Rex West and his wife, Kristi West; grandchildren, Amanda Pool and her husband, John Pool, Mary Brugger and her husband, Bryan Brugger, Hayden West and his significant other, Kayla Wilson, Molly Vitela and her husband, David Vitela, Rachel West, and Hayden Greer; great-grandchildren, Jovanne and Addisyn Pool, and X’Zavion and Malia Hall; sister, Tommie Lee Hendrix; brothers, Benny King and Richard King; and sister-in-law, Laura West. Her survivors also include other nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

 

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with interment to follow at China Cemetery. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at Broussard’s.
