Exa Oleva Scoggin, 91, of Beaumont, died Monday, October 31, 2011, at The Clairmont in Beaumont.

 

She was born December 3, 1919, in Winnsboro, Texas, to Adaline Davis Puckett and Isam Jackson Puckett, and had been a lifelong resident of the Beaumont area.  Mrs. Scoggin was a great cook and enjoyed life.  She was a very kind and giving person who was loved by all who knew her.  Mrs. Scoggin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was very strong in her Christian faith.

 

She was a great Mother, Grandmother and Mother-in-law and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Zealia Janette “Nette” King of Beaumont; sons, Sam Scoggin and his wife, Ann of Beaumont; Larry Eugene Scoggin and his wife Alice, of Huntersville, North Carolina; and Oda Eugene “Gene” Scoggin, Jr. and his wife, Kathy of New Braunfels; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Jo Anders of Irving; and many other loving family members.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Oda Eugene Scoggin; her parents; sister, Lonie; and her brother, Rex.

 

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2011, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 630 West Broad Street, Mineola under the direction of Broussard’s.
