Kathaleen Gail Smith Bailey

Kathaleen Gail Smith Bailey, 74, of Nederland, passed away in the warmth of her home. Born June 20, 1937, to Fannie Mae Baker Smith and Ire H. Smith in Nederland, she was a lifelong resident of the area.

 

Kathy was a 1955 graduate of Nederland High School and on April 13, 1956, married her sweetheart, James C. Bailey. She was a devout Christian and family woman who could be found in the kitchen, Chihuahuas at her feet, listening to gospel or country music, or watching her soaps. Kathy enjoyed her time at # Toledo Bend Lake fishing, bird watching and playing Skip Bo with her family.

 

Kathy is survived by her true love of fifty-five years, James C. Bailey; children, Connie Gregory and her husband, James, Cindy Aucoin and her husband, Mark and Rodney Bailey and his wife, Cathy; grandchildren, Jeremy Aucoin, Alana Aucoin, Joshua Aucoin, Sara Gregory, Aaron Gregory and Ashley Bailey Gamble and her husband, Drew; two great-granddaughters, Makaylynn and Sofia; and three beloved dogs, Sammy, Tammy, and Baby.

 

Her funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2011, at Seventh Street Baptist Church, 200 North 7th Street, Nederland, with burial to follow at Baker-Bell Cemetery near Fred, Texas at 3:30 pm Friday, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of her family and friends will be Thursday, November 3, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
