Adley Bourque Weems, 90, of Beauxart Gardens, died Saturday, October 29, 2011. Born March 30, 1921, to Oleta Boullion Bourque and John Bourque, she was a resident of the Mid-county area since 1955. Adley enjoyed cooking, listening and dancing to music, flowers, and was a great all around homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of seventy-two years, Marvin E. Weems of Beauxart Gardens; daughters, Blinda Gaspard and her husband, Phillip of Beauxart Gardens and Gail Holder of Stonewall, Louisiana; sons, Jed Weems of Port Arthur and Burke Weems and his wife, Ramona of Beaumont; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Glory Dean Hinds; brothers, Dennis Bourque and his wife, Viola of Cheek and Glenn Bourque of New York, New York.
Adley is preceded in death by her son, Briggs Weems; sister, Anna Mae Simon; and brother, Revis Bourque.
Her funeral service will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, October 31, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Fannett, 17019 Highway 124, Fannett, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday prior to her service, at the church.
