Charles "Buster" Merendino
December 2, 1919 - October 29, 2011

Charles “Buster” Merendino, 91, of Beaumont, died Saturday, October 29, 2011, peacefully at his home.

 

He was born December 2, 1919, to Nancy Bruno Merendino and Jake Merendino and was a lifelong resident of Beaumont where he was a retired Forman for Mobil Oil Refinery.  Buster proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard Merchant Marines during World War II. 

 

Buster is survived by his wife, Irene Faggard Merendino; son, Jake Clyde “J.C.” Merendino of Houston; and longtime family caretaker, Carolyn Guillory.

 

His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont with a gathering to follow at St. Anne parish hall.  A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, October 31, 2011, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s with a Christian Vigil starting at 6:00 p.m.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, P. O. Box 1629, Beaumont, Texas 77704.
