Margot Farabee Matkin, 73, of Kountze, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her residence. Margot was born on December 16, 1937 in Freer, Texas to Jack Leroy and Maxine (Polson) Farabee. A resident of Kountze since 1984, Margot was a retired accountant, having worked for several local auto dealerships in Beaumont. She was also a member of Happy Valley Church in Kountze. Margot was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Matkin of Kountze; her daughter, Marleen L. Grissom of San Angelo; her son, Michael D. Matkin of Lumberton; her brothers, Mark Farabee of Mont Belvieu and David Garrison of Silsbee; grandchildren, Melanie Grissom and Thomas D. Matkin; great grandchildren, Denesia Powell, Natalia Grissom, Emanuel Novales and Mariana Novales.
Her memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze, with Reverend Robert Hall officiating. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Broussard’s Crematorium.
