Carolyn Volk Brown, 66, of Beaumont died Friday, October 21, 2011, at Jefferson Nursing and Rehab Center in Beaumont. She was born in New Jersey on April 13, 1945, to Alma Groo Volk and Allen Volk, Jr. A Beaumont resident since 1977, she was an educator with Sylvan Learning Center. A longtime member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, she served in many capacities including Sunday school teacher and she was involved in the youth committee. Being very friendly, she made it a point to talk to everyone, always putting others before herself with her positive nature, and was such a joy to be around. Carolyn was beautiful both inside and out.
Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” Brown of Beaumont; daughter, Jennifer Brown of Beaumont and presently residing in Yiwu, China; and cousins, friends, and her church family.
Her memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2011, with a gathering of her family and friends to follow, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1350 N. 23rd Street, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Cremation arrangements are being handled under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium.
