Lee Ora Long Hauver, 85, of Beaumont, died Monday, October 10, 2011, at Calder Woods in Beaumont. Lee Ora was born in Brookeland, Texas to Ora Lee Futch Horn and Samuel Hector Horn, on May 10, 1926.

  Lee Ora was a 1943 graduate of Beaumont High School. She married Wilfred Long in 1945 when he returned from service in World War II. After the birth of her four children, Lee Ora enrolled at Lamar University, where she received a degree in Elementary Education. After Wilfred’s death in 1980, she married her high school sweetheart Ernest Hauver in 1985. She taught 3rd grade at Amelia Elementary for twenty-seven years, retiring so that she and Ernest could pursue their love of travel with friends in the Texas Airstream Harbor group. Her creativity won her group several awards on the international level. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, a recipient of the Good Apple Award and a lifetime member of the Lamar University Alumni Association.   Survivors include her husband, Ernest Hauver of Beaumont; children, Brenda Long Jackson and her husband, Ron, Wilfred “Buzz” Long and his wife, Cathy, all of Beaumont, Candy Long Lee and her husband, John of Kingwood, and Stephanie Long Meadows and her husband Tom of Warren; grandchildren, Matt Jackson and his wife Debbie, Amanda Lee and her husband Steve, Stewart Jackson, Vance Long, Scott Long, John Edward Lee and his wife Kim, Christine Lee and Thomas Meadows; great-grandchildren, Garrett Jackson, Sydney Jackson and Max Lee; sisters, Ruth Brammer, Anena Harrington, Eleanor Marsiglia and Yvonne Jordan.   Lee Ora is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Wilfred H. Long, Sr., her granddaughter, Michelle Meadows; and brother, James “Doc” Horn.   Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 13, 2011, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1350 North 23rd Street, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.   Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1350 North 23rd Street, Beaumont, Texas 77706 or the Wilfred H.
