Larrie David Wood, Sr., beloved husband, wonderful father, and super grandpa, 67, of Beaumont, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011.
He was born January 8, 1944, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Hope Leach Wood and Raymond Wood, and had been a resident of Beaumont since 1970. Larrie was a retired Firefighter from the Beaumont Fire Department with over thirty years of service, and was a United States Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Denyce Wood of Beaumont; daughters, Tracy Basden of Beaumont, and Michelle Frank of Houston; son, Larrie Wood, Jr. and his wife, Delancy of Beaumont; grandsons, Cody Basden and Dalton Basden, of Beaumont, Cameron Frank of Houston, and Tristan Wood of Beaumont; mother, Hope Smith of Beaumont; sister, Bette Jean Blackington of Claremont, New Hampshire; son-in-law, James Basden of Beaumont; mother-in-law, Myrna Dakan of Savannah, Tennessee; many other loving family members; and his faithful dog, Bunnie.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved him, and some who didn’t.
His funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the service at Broussard’s.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s.
