Alzana Doucet Stroud, 100, of China, died Monday, October 3, 2011, at The Clairmont in Beaumont.

 

She was born June 12, 1911, in Welch, Louisiana, to Josephine Venable Doucet and Melon Doucet, and had been a lifelong resident of China. Mrs. Stroud was retired from the Jefferson County Maintenance Department.

 

Survivors include her foster daughter, Patty Jones; sister, Hilda Doucet Ledger; sister-in-law, Irene Waguespack Doucette; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clem Doucet and Judge Lee Doucette; and sisters, Eula Doucet Stephens and Rita Doucet Vincent.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2011, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 245 W. Highway 90, China with interment to follow at China Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Broussard’s.
