Rosalie Fontana Whitman, 95, of Beaumont, died Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Calder Woods in Beaumont.
A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Mrs. Whitman was born June 27, 1916, to Barbara and Thomas Fontana. She retired as executive secretary to Victor Rogers and was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.
Survivors include her son, Onis Joseph Whitman, Jr. of Webster; brother, Joseph “Joe” Fontana of Beaumont; and sister, Barbara Louviere and her husband, Al of Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Onis Joseph Whitman, Sr.; and step-mother, Marie Fontana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
