Britt was born in Atlanta, Georgia and had lived in Lumberton area for about five years.

He is survived by his sons, David Michael Sumner and his wife, Mary Jo, Britt Douglas Sumner, Jr. and his wife, Stefani of Silsbee and Robert Allen Kirbow and his wife, Christine of Burleson; daughter, Janette Michelle Green and her husband, Justin of Burleson; grandchildren, Christian James Sumner, Kylea June Sumner, Jordon David Sumner, and Addie Pearl Green; mother, Minnie “Mickie” Lou Sumner of Silsbee; brothers, Tony James Sumner, Brian King Sumner and his wife, Debra, and Mark David Sumner and his wife, Sonja; and sister, Michelle Louise Sumner and her husband, Dan  all of Silsbee.

Britt is preceded in death by his father, Jessie James Sumner.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  A memorial service will be 12:00 PM on Monday, September 5, 2011 at Freedom Fellowship Church ,highway 1122 @ highway 418  in Silsbee.
