Carl "Snuffy" "Snuffy" Smith, Jr.
December 31, 1947 - May 3, 2011

Carl “Snuffy” Edward Smith, Jr., 63, of Silsbee died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at his residence.

 

A native of Port Arthur, Snuffy had lived in the area for twenty-eight years and was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.  He was a Mason of Silsbee Lodge #927 A.F. & A.M. and he was also retired from the Hardin County Courthouse where he was a bailiff for the 88th District Court for Judge Bill Beggs.

 

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Smith; children, Grant Webley and his wife, Jamie of Houston, John W. Clements and Jason Clements and his wife, Charla all of Oklahoma, Melinda, Melissa, Melanie, and Jason Smith; fifteen grandchildren; brother, Johnny Smith and his wife, Gwen of Nome; and sisters, Sue Woods and her husband, Robert and Alice Faye Brockschmidt and her husband, Brock.

 

Snuffy is preceded in death by his first wife, Trudy Smith and his parents, Carl, Sr. and Cynthia Smith.

 

His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial at R. S. Farmer Cemetery in Silsbee.  A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, May 5, 2011, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
