Annette Riegel
July 3, 1917 - April 30, 2011

Annette Riegel, 93, of Beaumont, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Collier Park in Beaumont. Born in Dallas, on July 3, 1917, to Lorena McDermott Rossen and Walter Rossen, she had been a resident of the area since 1930.

  Annette was a devoted wife and mother, an active parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church and a member of The St. Anne Ladies. She also was involved in the Charity Ball, Beaumont Junior League, and a member of the Beaumont Country Club Ladies Golf Association. She loved to play Bridge with the Monday Bridge Group and at the Bridge Studio.   Survivors include her children, Philip Richard Riegel, Jr. and his wife, Olga Bandi Riegel, of New Orleans, Louisiana, Carol Lynch and her husband, Randy, of Frederick, Maryland, and Renee Lee and her husband, Wilson Kee Lee, of Beaumont; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Woolverton and her husband, Greg, and Tracey Koch and her husband, David,  all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Kristen Hook and her husband, Jonathan, of Houston, Philip Lynch and his wife, Jodi, of Delran, New Jersey, Kathryn Cooke of Frederick, Maryland, Kevin Lee and Chris Lee and his wife, Angela, all of Austin; twelve great-grandchildren, Madeleine Woolverton, Allison Woolverton, Michael Woolverton, Jon David Koch, Maggie Koch, Sarah Hook, Christopher Hook, Grant Lynch, Quentin Cooke, Malakai Cooke, Cameron Cooke, and Dylan Lee; and her sister, Dorothy White, of Beaumont.   She is preceded in death by her husband, Philip Riegel; parents, Walter and Lorena Rossen; and sister, Claire Steets.   Annette’s family wishes to thank the staff at Collier Park, Odyssey Hospice and Dr. Santos Soberon for their kindness and compassion.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May, 2, 2011, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.   Memorial contributions may be made to Msgr. Kelly Catholic High School, 5950 Kelly Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77707.
