Frank McKennon, 84, of Lumberton, died Sunday, April 24, 2011. He was born November 26, 1926, in Dierks, Arkansas to Mae LeBlue McKennon and John McKennon and had been a resident of the Beaumont area since 1976. He was a Special Service Technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone with forty-two years of service and was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served in World War II in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. Frank served as Deacon and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lumberton.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria McKennon of Lumberton; son, Frank Lynn McKennon and his wife, Tina of Webster; grandchildren, Michelle Cramer and her husband, Fred of Pearland, Michael McKennon and his wife, Meagan of Tomball, Katy McDaniel and her husband, David of Benbrook, and Hannah Dean of Webster; great grandson, Cash Michael Cramer of Pearland; and special family friends, Charla and Tommy Gray of Lumberton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his son, John Vincent McKennon.
His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Broussard’s.
