James "Jimmy" L. Purks

James “Jimmy” L. Purks, 77, of Lumberton died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at his residence.
A lifelong resident of the area, Jimmy served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an inspector at Texaco for forty years and a member of Lumberton Masonic Lodge, #1430.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Purks; sons, Gary Purks and his wife Jennifer and Robert Purks and his wife Lecia all of Lumberton, and Brian Purks of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jessica, Scott, and Mark Purks; great grandchildren, Andrew, Jasmine, and Audrey Purks; sisters, Sandra Wilson and her husband Hugh of Colmesneil, Mary Jo McDonald and her husband Elton of San Antonio, and Cheryl Donofrio and her husband Mike of St. Louis, Missouri.
The family would like to send special thanks to New Century Hospice and Jeri Elkins for the care that was given to Jimmy.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
