Sadie Hicks, 82, of Sour Lake, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Silsbee Oaks Convalescent Center.
Born October 16, 1928, in Beaumont to Concetta Mariella Aiena and John Aiena; Sadie had lived most of her life in Beaumont before residing in Sour Lake.
Survivors include her husband, Willie James Hicks of Sour Lake; son, Richard J. Hicks and his wife Elizabeth of Sour Lake; brothers, Joseph Aiena of Sour Lake and Leon Aiena of Fannett; sisters, Annie Aiena Marino of Sour Lake, Pearl Aiena Rhoney of Kountze and Mary Aiena Strother of Vidor; sister-in-law, Jackye Aiena of Lumberton; four step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Aiena, Steve Aiena and Thomas Aiena; and sister, Rose Aiena McCain.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4445 Avenue A, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at Broussard’s.
