Juanita "Janie" Granato
July 10, 1941 - March 12, 2011

Juanita “Janie” Granato, 69, of Beaumont, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at her home. Born July 10, 1941, in Del Rio, to Agapito and Simona Ramos Martinez, she had been a resident of the Beaumont area for over forty years. Janie worked as a department store manager.

 

Survivors include her children, Adolph Granato, III of Humble, David M. Granato, Sr. and his wife Karen, and Cindy O’Dell all of Lumberton; grandchildren, Maria, Matthew, Melissa, Michael, Weston, Taylor, and Jordan Granato, Gabe and Alec Steininger; great-grandchild, Isabel Granato; long time companion, Lupe Hernandez; brothers, Henry Martinez and his wife Rose of Fremont, California and Manuel Martinez and his wife Betty of Del Rio; sister, Anita Chesson of Hemphill; and numerous other loving family members.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Granato, Jr.; parents; sister, Jesusita Martinez; and son, Anthony Granato.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 767 Avenue A, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2011, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
