Carl "Teddy" T. Freeman. Sr.
April 6, 1931 - February 12, 2011

Carl T. “Teddy” Freeman, 79, of Nederland died February 12, 2011 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.  Born April 6, 1931 in Galveston, Texas, Teddy was the son of Abraham Benjamin and Vivian Merle Blasingame Freeman.  He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean War.  Teddy attended Lamar University and North Texas State and was employed with Gulf Refinery for thirty-eight years.  He coached Babe Ruth, umpired little league baseball and called high school football games.  Teddy enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and playing cards.  He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

 

He is survived by his son, Carl T. Freeman, Jr. of Nederland; brother, Raymond Claude Freeman; sister, Mary Emma Reynolds; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma L. Freeman; and daughters, Pamela L. Freeman and Sandra Gail Morello.

 

A memorial service will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, February 17, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, Nederland.  A gathering of family and friends will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday until time of service at the church.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.
