Marguerite Robinson Kolander died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the Arboretum in Winnie surrounded by family members. She was born March 24, 1913 in China, Texas, and at ninety –seven years of age, had lived her entire life in China.
She is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Thibodeaux and her husband Leonce “Pip” of Eunice, Louisiana and Margaret Ann Higginbotham and her husband Gerald of China; son, James Kolander and his wife Yvonne of Sour Lake; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Ethel Mae Howard of Orange.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Joe Robinson; husband, Eddie Kolander; three brothers, Woodrow Robinson, Lloyd Robinson, and J.E. Robinson; two grandchildren, Scharmaine Manning and Dwaine Thibodeaux; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 245 W. Hwy. 90, China with burial to follow at China Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, January 21, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s on McFaddin.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rick, Ronny, and Billy Kolander, Bart Thibodeaux, Ken Pelt, Rick Schroeder, Stephan Malick, and Larry and Donald Robinson.
