Jesse J. Lafferty

Jesse J. Lafferty, 89, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He was born May 3, 1921, in Richland Springs, to Jim and Ola Lafferty and had been a resident of the Beaumont area since 1931. Jesse served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University and retired from Mobil as a maintenance planner. Jesse was a member of South Park Church of Christ.
Survivors include his brother, Harold Lafferty of Mathis; three nieces, Sharon Byrum, Sharleen Wright, and Susan Johannesen; and one nephew, Harold Lafferty II.
His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2011, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens, Nederland. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Broussard’s.
