Anthony "Pat" Patrick Barry, Sr.

Anthony Patrick “Pat” Barry, Sr., 73, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was born on August 4, 1937, to Therese Dupre Barry and Ivan Barry. He retired as a Captain in the Beaumont Fire Department after serving and protecting the community for thirty-four years. He was most proud of serving as President on the Pension Board. He served on the board for twenty-one years and played an important part in improving the Beaumont Fireman’s Relief and Retirement Fund. He also served in the United States Army. Pat enjoyed spending time at the farm just doing his thing.
Survivors include his wife and love of his life, Jean Barry of Beaumont; sons, Anthony P. Barry, Jr. and his wife Madonna of Beaumont, Richard Merlin Barry and his wife Tina of Centennial, Colorado and Thomas Kevin Barry of Beaumont; daughter, Cynthia Elaine Barry of Mount Ida, Arkansas; step-daughter, Kimberly Garrett and her husband Brent of Bulverde; brothers, Ivan Barry and his wife Patricia of Beaumont and Michael Barry of Wynonna; sister, Joanne Leusch of Austin; and grandchildren, Jessica Barry, Amanda Barry, Joshua Barry, Patrick Barry, Elena Barry, Katelyn Barry, Ryan Barry, Christian Barry, Avery Garrett and Braeden Garrett.
A Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m., Friday, January, 21, 2011, with a gathering of his family and friends to follow at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church, 245 Highway 90, China, with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s, Beaumont.
