Patrick Thomas Murphy, 78, of Wildwood, died on Monday, January 17, 2011, at his residence. Patrick was born on February 21, 1932, in Queens, New York to Bartholomew and Winifred (O’Brien) Murphy. He had resided in Wildwood for the past thirty-five years and was a member of Wildwood-Village Mills United Methodist Church. Patrick retired as a merchant seaman with over thirty years of service to Sabine Towing Company in Port Arthur.
He is survived by his wife, Ollie Murphy of Wildwood; his children, Robert Charles Nally and his wife Linda of Dickerson, Sheila A. Sanford of Port Neches, Patrick Kevin Murphy and his wife Maria of Silsbee, Catherine A. Murphy of Village Mills, Thomas A. Murphy and his wife Valerie of Port Arthur, John T. Murphy and his wife Darla of Bridge City; his sister, Sheila Acito and her husband Joe of Freehold, New Jersey; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by a son, Johnny Ray Adaway.
Funeral service for Patrick will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze, with Reverend David Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Village Mills Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, January 21, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
