Carl Asa Hemmenway, Sr.
January 27, 1925 - January 5, 2011

Carl Hemmenway, Sr. 85, of LaBelle, died January 5, 2011 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.  Born January 27, 1925 in Nederland, he was the son of Annie Franklin and Asa Hemmenway.  Carl was in the United States Coast Guard and was a welder with ARCO.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

 

He is survived by his brother, Jack Hemmenway of LaBelle; sister, Patsy King and her husband Almon of Port Neches; grandchildren, Cody West and Nicole West both of LaBelle; and son-in-law, John West of LaBelle.  His wife, May Belle West; son, Carl Hemmenway, Jr.; and daughter, Suzette West preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.  A gathering of family and friends will be  Thursday evening, January 6, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
