Josie P. Cuniff, 96, of Fannett, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.

 

A lifelong resident of Fannett, Josie was born March 23, 1914, to Lydia Keneson Adams and George Adams.  Some of her favorite pastimes were fishing, dominos, working in her flower beds, taking family vacations and family gatherings, especially Christmas.

 

Survivors include her sons, Edgar Cuniff and his wife Elsa of Fannett and Carl “Shorty” Cuniff and his wife Betty of Hamshire; daughters, Peggy Craigen and her husband Roy and Debbie Buchholz and her husband Freddy all of Fannett; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and eleven great great grandchildren.

 

Her graveside service will be 12:00 Noon Friday, January 7, 2011, at Landrum Cemetery in Fannett under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Broussard’s.

 

The family would like to acknowledge all of Josie’s friends for their support, especially in her later years, and the staff at Summer Place for their compassionate care.
