Betty L. Carruth, 74, of Lumberton died passed away December 19, 2010, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. She was born August 27, 1936, in Sarepta, Louisiana, to Camille Staten Smith and Oliver Smith and has been a resident of the Lumberton area for many years. Betty worked as an insurance agent.
She is survivd by her husband, Jone Ray Carruth of Lumberton; children, Celia Burrows and Darren Carruth and his wife Andrea both of Lumberton; grandchildren, Celena Hinton, Chase Burrows, Justin Carruth, Bryant Carruth, and Matthew Carruth; sisters, Joyce Henson of Bivins, Texas, Roberta Osborne of Atlanta, Texas, and Ernestine Pickard of Sarepta, Louisiana; and brother, Reed Smith of Atlanta, Texas.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial to follow at R. S. Farmer Cemetery in Silsbee. A gathering of her family and friends will be 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, December 20, 2010, at Broussard’s.
