James "Jim" Louis Furbee
December 15, 1924 - November 23, 2010

James “Jim” Furbee, 85, of Port Neches died November 23, 2010 at Cypress Glen East Nursing and Rehabilitation in Port Arthur.  Born December 15, 1924 in Norman Oklahoma, Jim was the son of Corine Alma Rollins and Henry Irvin Furbee, and was a resident of Port Neches since 1980.

 

Jim retired from the United States Navy, having served during World War II, and was a hospital supervisor.  An Oklahoma Sooner fan, Jim also enjoyed spending time with the Golden Friends at First United Methodist Church, playing games, exercising at Exygon, and reading.

 

He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Gay Furbee of Port Neches; brother, Jack Furbee of Oklahoma; special brother-in-law, Norman Greenberg of Houston; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.  A gathering of family and friends will be Friday evening, November 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
