Myirna Leigh Akehurst, 69, of Bridge City died Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at her residence. Myirna was born January 14, 1941, in Conway, South Carolina to Lewis Jackson and Bonnie H. (Lewis) Stalvey. A resident of the area since 1976, she was a retired cosmetologist.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Akehurst of Oklahoma; children, Lora Huebner and her husband Donny of Bridge City and Bobby Akehurst II and his wife Leslie of Kountze; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and sisters Brookie Stiles and Beth Patterson and her husband Donnie both of Baltimore, Maryland.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with burial to follow at Holland Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, November 20, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
