Brenda Joyce Irby, 61, of Groves died November 18, 2010 at her residence. A native of Maryland, born February 6, 1949, the daughter of Cleda Gladys Burns and Brewster Blanks Irby, Brenda had been a resident of Groves since 1996. She was a receptionist for Veteran’s Administration military bases and attended Woodcrest Baptist Church.
She is survived by her father, Brewster Irby of Port Arthur; sister, Beverly Wright of Groves; nephew, Bruce Wright of Groves; and best friends, Louise Graham and Jackie Horton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cleda Gladys Irby and brother, Ray Irby.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday. November 22, 2010 at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday evening, November 21, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
